LESLIES - Plasters Tin
Early Cannabis Indica Plasters Tin -- Amazing tin which once contained cannabis plasters! The tin is empty. The tin is 7 1/2" long and 1 3/4" in diameter. It is coloured green with brown and gold decoration. The text reads: "CANNABIS INDICA & SALICYLIC / ACID PLAISTER / (area of over-paint) / LESLIES (LIMITED) / (area of over-paint) / E.C." The tin has its original matching lid on one end. It's odd, but there are two areas of over-painting, which match the green background of the tin, but have obviously been done sometime after the tin was made. Why, I have no idea! It looks like some of the text has been over-painted on purpose, especially onthe lower line which just ends in "E.C." It probably had an address in London,England here. There are areas of scuffing and loss of paint on the tin which were not over-painted, so I can not really explain why someone did the over-painting.
