CANNABIS TINCTURE
DOCUMENTATION OF FIRST MARKETING AND SALE:

From a historical perspective Cannabis in tincture or liquid form, has been offered for sale in this country since the late 1840's.   However, for the purpose of this petition, only one tincture 'Specific Medicines' (a copyrighted trade name), will be discussed.   Fortunately for us (due mostly to a personality dispute between two people who wrote articles insulting one another) documenting this one Brand name product was real easy.

H.M. Merrell & Co., should not be confessed with William M. Merrel & Co. The two were competitors and didn't like each other very much.
