UTROVOL Manufactured by PARKE DAVIS & Co., (today known as Pfizer) Utrovol is probably one of the best known of the pre-1937 Cannabis medicines. This author remembers reading about it in the early 1990's from pro-Medical Cannabis writers who spoke of it as if it were still on the market. And probably for good reason; -- recalling that the 19th century was noted for generic copies of medicines (everyone essentially making the same medicines with very little new innovation. Utrovol was in effect among one of the first of the innovative medicines to make its way onto the market. Where it stayed (as is) until the coming of the Marihuana Tax Act, forced the Parke Davis Co., to STOP the use of medicinal Cannabis. Today, we can see it as one of the new (20th century) medicines which harold in the change in which companies stopped simply copying each others medicines and started inventing new ones.
